Profile

Your profile holds the three things your account is built on: your name, your region, and the email address you sign in with.

Open the Setting tab and tap the card at the top with your name on it. The whole card is the button — it is marked Profile on the right and opens the Profile screen in one tap. Under your name the card also shows your account ID, written as ID: followed by the last eight characters, which support may ask you to read back.

RowWhat it is
NameThe name shown at the top of the Setting tab. Up to 40 characters.
RegionUS, Canada or EU. Sets the units your account starts with.
EmailThe address you sign in with, and where device email alerts go.

Changing your name

Tap Name, type the new name, then tap the check button at the top right of the panel. The check button stays gray until the name is different from the one you already have, and the name cannot be left blank.

If you have never set a name, the app displays the part of your email address before the @ instead.

Region

Tap Region and choose US, Canada or EU.

Region does one job. The first time you sign in, it decides which temperature unit and which currency your account starts with.

RegionStarting temperature unitStarting currency
US°FUSD
Canada°CCAD
EU°CEUR

Changing your region later does not rewrite settings that are already in place. Change those directly under Preferences.

Changing your email

Your email address is both your sign-in and the address device alerts are sent to. Changing it takes three steps.

  1. Tap Email, enter the new address, and tap Next.
  2. A 6-digit code is sent to the new address. Enter it in the six boxes. The app checks the code the moment the sixth digit lands, so there is nothing to submit. If the code does not arrive, tap Resend.
  3. The panel shows Email Updated Successfully. Tap Done.

An email address can be linked to only one Superheat account. If the address you entered already belongs to another account, the change stops with Email already in use and nothing on your account changes.

If you signed in with Google, a Google login that no longer matches your new address is unlinked as part of the same change, and the app confirms it with Google login updated to match your new email. From then on, sign in with your new email address.

warning

The code goes to the new mailbox, not to your current one. If you cannot open the new mailbox and read the code, the change cannot be completed and you stay on your old address — which means you keep signing in, and receiving alerts, there.
