Notifications
Superheat tells you about your heater in three places: an email, a push notification on your phone, and the inbox inside the app. The inbox always fills in. The other two are yours to switch on or off.
Email alerts and push notifications
Open the Setting tab, tap More Settings, and look under Notifications.
| Toggle | Starts as | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Email Alerts | On | Sends device error alerts to the email address on your profile |
| Push Notifications | Off | Sends alerts to your phone as system notifications |
The switch itself belongs to your account, but the system permission behind it is granted by the phone you turn it on from.
Email alerts go to whichever address is on your profile at the time, so if you move your account to a new address the alerts move with it. See Profile.
Turning Push Notifications on asks your phone for permission the first time. If you have turned Superheat notifications off at the phone level before, the app cannot re-enable them for you — the row reads "System notifications are disabled. Enable them in Settings to receive alerts," and you need to allow them in your phone's own settings first, then come back and switch the toggle on.
Switching both toggles off does not stop anything being recorded. Alerts still land in the app inbox; you have chosen not to be interrupted about them.
The inbox
The bell at the top right of the Home tab opens your notifications. A dot on the bell means there is something you have not seen.
Entries are grouped Today, then Yesterday, then by date, newest first, with the time on the right of each row. Pull down to refresh the list. When there is nothing yet, the screen reads "No Notifications Yet".
Opening the inbox marks everything in it as read, which clears the dot on the bell.
Three kinds of entry show up:
| Entry | Comes from |
|---|---|
| Device alerts | Your heater reporting a critical fault or something needing attention. Critical entries are tinted red and attention entries amber, and the line beneath the title counts how many devices are affected. |
| Earnings and payouts | Mining rewards credited to your balance, and payouts sent out |
| Support updates | A change of status on a support request you opened, shown as Status: followed by the new status |
The inbox is a record, not a control panel. To act on a device alert, go to the Home tab and read the banner there — see Status and alerts. To act on money, open the Wallet tab.
