Coolant

The mining chips inside your H1C pass their heat to the water through a coolant loop. The coolant needs topping up every two years to keep heating steady. The app tracks when that is due.

Where to check it

Open Home, tap Controls, and look at the Maintenance section of Device Control. The row shows a color-coded word on the right. Tap the row to open Refill Coolant, which shows the full status, the date of the last refill, and the instructions.

The footnote under that row reads: "Refill coolant every 2 years for optimal performance."

The two-year cycle

The due date is two years after the last recorded refill. The app starts warning you six months before that.

If your heater has no refill date recorded yet, the app treats it as overdue and shows Coolant refill needed above the line Last Refill: --. Recording your first refill, or a refill done at installation, clears it.

Refilling

Under How to refill?, the Refill Coolant page lists four steps, in order.

  1. Turn off the device. Make sure the system is powered off and cooled down before opening any panels.
  2. Open the panel. Open the access panel and find the coolant tank inside the unit.
  3. Check coolant level. Ensure the coolant level is within the recommended range marked on the tank.
  4. Add coolant. Add coolant to the recommended level. Do not overfill.
danger

Power the unit off at the wall and let it cool before you open any panel. The unit contains hot water, live electrical parts, and heat sinks that stay hot after shutdown. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, contact support rather than opening the unit.

warning

Do not overfill the tank, and do not substitute another fluid for the specified coolant. Either can damage the mining chips and may affect your warranty.

Marking it done

The app cannot tell that you have refilled anything, so you record it yourself.

The Coolant Refilled button appears at the bottom of Refill Coolant only when the status is overdue. If your status is Coolant OK or Coolant refill needed soon, there is no button and nothing to record — the app is not yet expecting a refill.

When the button is there:

  1. Tap Coolant Refilled.
  2. Confirm in the dialog titled Confirm Coolant Refill, which reads "Please confirm the coolant has been filled to the recommended level."
  3. Tap Confirm.

The app records today's date, shows New setting updated, and the card changes to Coolant OK. The two-year clock starts again from that date.

Recording a refill you have not done hides the reminder for two years. There is no way to undo it yourself, so contact support if you tap it by mistake.
