Status reference

The app judges your heater on its most recent check-in, and treats a check-in more than a minute old as out of date. The result is a single status shown on the Home tab as a colored dot and a word underneath the heater's name, and again beside every heater in the list you get by tapping that name.

When the heater is in trouble, a colored banner also sits over the heater image with the name of the fault and a one-line explanation. This page lists every status and every fault group the app can show you, and what each one is asking you to do.

Every status and alert

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
Healthy (green)The heater checked in within the last minute and reported no faults. Water is heating and the mining chips are working.Nothing.
Needs attention (amber)Something has interrupted mining, but hot water is unaffected. An amber banner names the specific fault.Find the banner title in the rows below and follow that row.
Critical (red)The heater has found a fault it treats as unsafe and has shut heating down on purpose. A red banner names the fault.Find the banner title below. Every critical fault is a support matter, not a home repair.
Offline (gray)The heater has not checked in for more than a minute. This is about the connection, not the hardware, and the app has no idea what the heater is doing.Confirm the unit has power, that the ethernet cable is seated at both ends, and that your router is up. Pull down on Home to refresh.
Inactive (gray)The heater is not currently active on your account.Contact support. See Support.
System failure — "Heating has been disabled for safety"A controller fault was detected. This is the heater's own brain reporting a problem, and heating is disabled until it is resolved.Contact support with your serial number. Repeated power cycling will not clear it.
Heating element failure — "Heating has been disabled for safety"A heating element or relay fault was detected, and heating is disabled. You will not have hot water until this is fixed.Contact support. Do not open the unit.
Temperature sensor failure — "Heating has been disabled for safety"The sensors that keep the water at a safe temperature are not reporting, so the heater will not heat blind.Contact support.
Multiple critical failuresMore than one fault group is present, so the banner shows this in place of a single fault name. The app uses this wording at both severities, so read the second line rather than the title to learn whether heating has stopped.Contact support and mention that the app shows multiple failures.
Mining module offline — "Hot water is on, but mining is paused"The heater cannot reach its mining hardware. Backup heating keeps your water hot, but nothing is being earned while this lasts. The heater is still checking in, so this is inside the unit rather than a problem with your network. Give it a few hours to clear on its own, then open a support request.
Mining configuration error — "Hot water is on, but mining is paused"The mining settings could not be applied. Backup heating is active, so hot water continues.Wait for the next check-in. If the banner is still there the next day, contact support.
Water circulation abnormal — "Hot water is on, but mining is paused"A pump or circulation problem was detected. Backup heating is active.Contact support. Circulation problems tend to get worse rather than better.
Temperature sensor warning — "Hot water is on, but mining is paused"A sensor reading looks wrong, but not badly enough to stop heating. Backup heating is active.Watch it for a day. If the banner does not clear on its own, contact support.
warning

A critical status means the heater disabled heating deliberately. Cutting power and restoring it may clear the banner for a moment, but it does not fix the fault, and running the unit past a heating element or sensor failure risks damage that your warranty will not cover. Contact support instead.

Reading the alert banner

The banner only appears for Needs attention and Critical. Its title is the fault group and its second line is fixed by severity: critical faults read "Heating has been disabled for safety", attention-level faults read "Hot water is on, but mining is paused".

When two or more fault groups are present at once, the title collapses to Multiple critical failures. The app uses that wording at both severities, so an amber banner can carry it too. Read the second line, not the title, to tell the two apart.

That second line is the fastest way to know whether you still have hot water. Amber means yes, hot water is running on backup heating and only your earnings have stopped. Red means the heater has stopped heating and you should treat it as urgent. There is more on living with each state in Status and alerts.

Muting an alarm

Some faults sound a buzzer on the unit itself. For those, and only for those, a speaker button appears at the right end of the alert banner. Tap it to silence the unit, and tap it again if you want the sound back.

Muting changes the sound and nothing else. The fault is still there, the banner stays, and the status does not improve. It can take several seconds for the heater to confirm the change; if it does not, the app shows "Failed to mute alert" and you can try again.

Coolant status

Coolant is tracked by date, not by a sensor. The clock runs from the last refill you recorded, the heater is considered due two years later, and the app starts asking six months before that.

On Device ControlOn Refill CoolantWhat it meansWhat to do
Coolant / NormalCoolant OKThe last recorded refill was less than 18 months ago.Nothing.
Coolant check due in 6 months / Refill soonCoolant refill needed soonThe two-year mark is within six months.Buy coolant and plan a time. There is no button to mark it done yet.
Coolant / Refill neededCoolant refill neededThe heater is past due, or no valid refill date is on record.Follow the four steps on Refill Coolant, then tap Coolant Refilled to reset the clock.

A brand-new heater with no refill on record reads as overdue. That is expected, and recording your first refill clears it. The full procedure is in Coolant.

When a status does not match what you see

The app describes the last thing the heater told it. If the unit is warm and running but the app says Offline, trust the unit and fix the connection. If the app says Healthy but the water is cold, check your target temperature on Temperature first, then open a support request from Support.
